When Will We Rise

When we started the race, we were so far ahead of the game
But along the way, a few of our tribal soldiers were slain
They beat us to the punch, we didn’t even finish the race
Threw in the towel, quitted before we could take our place
As soon as we saw another ahead, we stopped in our tracks
And now we’re far behind, because we didn’t give our max
Why can’t we see how far we truly are, the mental scars
It’s not going to be easy, in fact it’s going to be kind of hard
But nothing is attained if we don’t put forth our best try
So we must be ready for whatever, and prepared to die
We reigned for years, but we lost our enchanted home
We let it slip away, as quick as it came, it was gone
But we stay standing around, not looking for our jewels
It’s amazing how we’re giving in to today’s false rules
The days have me wiping away the visions from my eyes
Too many walking dead, has me wondering when will we rise
